It is March 2020 when twelve year old Alice Manonomin’s Philadelphia middle school announces it’s indefinite closure because of Covid. Alice’s professor father and psychiatrist mother decide to follow their dreams and make a fresh start. They purchase an 1870’s hotel in an old silver mining town in Nevada, in hopes of turning it into a boutique bed and breakfast. Even though Alice is reluctant to go, the family makes their way across the country by car, stopping at many novel and historical sites.

Finally upon arriving at their new home, they find it to be in need of desperate repair. Mysterious signs are left in the old hotel, and it seems that Alice, her cat and guinea pig are the only ones who are able to notice them. A seemingly defunct 1860’s railroad station is also on the property, right behind the house. As the story unfolds, Alice learns about the history of the hotel, and meets some new unusual friends. Not only are the friends from far away countries, but they are also from other time periods; and only Alice can see them.

After about a month, Shaylin, Alice’s best friend from Philadelphia comes for a visit to the “Time Travelers Hotel”. It turns out, she too can see Alice’s new friends.
